SouthWest Ohio and Neighboring Libraries is a cooperative of area libraries organized to promote library services among and through member institutions. SWON Libraries consists of academic, public, school and special libraries in southwest Ohio and northern Kentucky.

Geographic Membership & Our Ohio Service Area


All libraries of any type (academic, public, school, special) within SWON’s 17 county service area in Ohio are already considered Geographic Members of SWON Libraries & receive the benefits enumerated below.

Our service area counties are:

  • Adams
  • Brown
  • Butler
  • Champaign
  • Clark
  • Clermont
  • Clinton
  • Darke
  • Fayette
  • Greene
  • Hamilton
  • Highland
  • Madison
  • Miami
  • Montgomery
  • Preble
  • Warren

However, even in these counties, your organization may still be a Supporting Member, so check the list.

Geographic Members receive reduced-rate access to continuing education offered by or through SWON. We offer consulting and technology lending, as well. Please contact SWON at or 513-751-4422 to learn more about learning opportunities for Geographic Members.

Geographic Members and Kentucky libraries may elect to pay dues to become Supporting Members and be entitled to additional services and free and reduced rates on programs.

SWON offers a variety of special benefits for Supporting Members. The membership year runs from July through June, but members are accepted at any time on a pro-rated dues basis. For additional membership information, contact SWON at or 513-751-4422
