Steely Library After School Special
EXPLORING ENERGY, ENVIRONMENT, AND SPACE: RESOURCES FOR THE P-12 EDUCATOR
March 6, 2018, 4:00 -6:00 p.m.
NKU, Steely Library, Room 102

Presenters:

Jennifer Beach, Children’s Programming Librarian at Kenton County Public Library, specializes in Environmental Science. She is a certified Professional Environment Educator and uses energy and environment government resources for instruction. She’ll be sharing Environmental Science lesson plans for the elementary level.

Ella Bowling, CINSAM STEM Outreach Director, will discuss Rocket Camps for Kids, NASA lesson plans, and other STEM resources for the elementary grades.

Bill Muse from the Kettering Foundation in Dayton will present and discuss the middle school and high school lessons and activities that are part of their Environmental Issues Forums in partnership with the American Association for Environmental Education.
A representative from the Ignite Institute at Toyota’s bestowed Roebling Innovation Center (Boone County Schools) will talk about their STEAM program for middle school and high school.

Christa Speights, NKU Physics Department and Planetarium Director, will introduce the NASA lesson plans available for the elementary grades.
Michael Wells, Steely Librarian and Amateur Radio operator, will discuss various NASA lesson plans available for junior high and high school students.
