Join your fellow Children's Librarians for this full-day summer reading workshop featuring next summer's theme: Heroes. Three different library systems will present their Heroes programs; an artist will have us all drawing and more! Prizes and Idea Share close the day. Heroes Theme!

The event will be held at Lane Public Library Administration Center at 1396 University Blvd, Hamilton, OH 45011.


    8:45 AM to 9:10 AM - Registration and Introductions

    9:10 AM to 10:00 AM - PLCH - Description of "Power Up and Read" Program

    10:00 AM to 10:50 AM - Nathan Swartzendruber - "How do heroes know where to go?"

    10:50 AM to 11:00 AM - Break

    11:00 AM to 11:50 AM - Adams County - "Adams County Avengers" 

    11:50 AM to 12:30 PM - Lunch

    12:30 PM to 1:00 PM - Community Heroes Activities on Pinterest with Racheal Mick

    1:00 PM to 1:50 PM - Kenton County - Heroes themed SRP successes

    1:50 PM to 2:40 PM - Jeff Nicholas Art - Get your pencils sharpened! We're going to draw!

    2:40 PM to 2:50 PM - Break

    2:50 PM to 3:45 PM - Idea Share - We'll go around the room and each attendee will share one successful idea with the group.


The first speakers, PLCH, will be discussing the most successful ideas they had during their "Power Up, Read" program. Nathan will share ideas for map making of all kinds with children. Adams County will be discussing "Adams County Avengers", how it originated, and all the details about it. Kenton County will share their successful "Heroes" summer reading program, we'll draw with Jeff Nicholas and we'll end the day with prizes and Idea Share. With Idea Share you get one idea for Summer Reading from each and every attendee!
