Folk and Fairytales are as old as time itself. Creatively extending this aspect of your collection by sharing stories, music, dramatics, puppets, and variants in programs is a fun way to expand literacy and collection use.

In this interactive webinar program, Jill Burket Ragase will give you a variety of tools that you will be able to use to:

  • Incorporate different versions/variants of folktales, tales from around the world, American tall tales, fables, modern/fractured fairy tales and Caldecott-winning tales in children’s programs.
  • Select poetry, music, creative dramatics, reader's theatre, and puppetry to expand folk and fairytales in children’s programs.

Folk and fairytales come in as many varieties and adaptions as colors in the spectrum. Program and expansion activities are limitless. We will discuss the variety and types stories available as well as program pairings, collection uses, and collection promotion opportunities.
