Picture Book Read-In is a program for Collection Development staff, Children's Librarians, Teachers, Childcare Workers, in short, anyone who selects and/or reads books for children. We have thousands of recent titles (usually from the last two years) loaned to us for this event from five leading public library systems. Each attendee receives a guide listing all of the books (fiction and non-fiction). This year you may select a printed guide or just the pdf if you'd rather annotate digitally and save the trees!
The day includes time for selecting and binge-reading picture books, discussing possible story time options with your peers (over 80 children's librarians/teachers attended last year) and two presentations. Mary Rekers will help us add music to our programming and Signing Safari will share some basic sign language and how to incorporate that into story time too.
