How does copyright apply to libraries and our patrons? Attend this crash course to learn the essentials of copyright law and how to keep your libraries safe from infringement and potential lawsuits. You will also learn how to take advantage of fair-use exceptions in the law by analyzing a range of copyright scenarios.


In this interactive and informative webinar we will pay closest attention to copyright’s impact on traditional library activities such as lending, photocopying, and interlibrary loan. You will leave primed to navigate the choppy waters of copyright.

Michael Rodriguez ~ Biography


Michael Rodriguez is the E-Learning Librarian at Hodges University, with the faculty rank of Assistant Professor. He manages the library’s digital services and resources, including 130-plus databases and licensing agreements, the library website, and the ILS. He also teaches and tutors students and provides copyright guidance to faculty.


In his off hours, Michael blogs and runs social media for the national Library and Information Technology Association (LITA), and reviews nonfiction for Library Journal. He is an avid kayaker.
