In today’s digital age, navigating the choppy waters of copyright is trickier than ever. This program will deliver a brief refresher on copyright and will then focus on the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and copyright issues and trends pertaining to digital images, streaming videos, ebooks, software, licensing, and other problematic digital areas.
In this informative webinar you will also discover where to find resources free of most copyright restrictions, and we will explore alternative routes to accessing and sharing copyrighted materials while avoiding infringement. By the end of this session, you will know your digital copy rights.
Michael Rodriguez ~ Biography
Michael Rodriguez is the E-Learning Librarian at Hodges University, with the faculty rank of Assistant Professor. He manages the library’s digital services and resources, including 130-plus databases and licensing agreements, the library website, and the ILS. He also teaches and tutors students and provides copyright guidance to faculty.
In his off hours, Michael blogs and runs social media for the national Library and Information Technology Association (LITA), and reviews nonfiction for Library Journal. He is an avid kayaker.
