Special Interest Group Meetings:
The Special Interest Groups that are meeting are the Academic Special Interest Group and the Schools Special Interest Group. If you aren't a member of one of those special interest group you don't have to show up until Noon.
The Academic Librarians Interest Group is an informal discussion group that meets four times a year at various places in the service area to discuss the challenges, ideas, and strategies of academic libraries. This includes but is not limited to instruction, information literacy, marketing, technology, trends, and more. This group is open to all interested parties, and our meetings are free. Join us and share your tips for a successful university life!
The School Librarians Special Interest Group is comprised of High School Librarians who are Supporting members of SWON Libraries. They meet periodically to discuss a wide range of issues such as library trends, emerging technologies, group purchasing, group discounts, staffing, best practices, school library patrons, YA literature and collaboration with other types of libraries.
Membership Meetings take place twice a year and they are meetings to vote on things relevant to SWON Memberships. Each supporting member library has one vote for the meeting. We will be voting on the finalized budget.
Lunches will be provided! When you register you will have options for special dietary requests.
If you are only attending the Membership Meeting portion of the event and will not be eating lunch with us then the event is free. If you plan on attending only the Membership Meeting please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org so I can make sure we don't charge you for the day.
