OELMA and LitCon 2016 make it possible for students, teachers and librarians to experience a fun, professional, literary convention.

How do I/my students register for LitCon 2016?

Registration is online only. Click on the registration button on any of the website pages. Payment may be made by purchase order or credit card.

How much does it cost to attend LitCon?

$15.00 per person. Purchase orders and credit cards accepted.

I am a school teacher or school librarian. How do I handle the logistics of bringing students to LitCon?

Think of LitCon 2016 in terms of a school field trip. A school employee (teacher, librarian, administrator) must act as the chaperone for students attending LitCon 2016.

You may choose to bring students in your classes, creative writing classes, contemporary literature classes, Power of the Pen students, school book club groups or any individuals/group you feel would benefit from attending this event.

How does choosing my top three workshops, work?

Attendees should read and familiarize themselves with the workshop options prior to completing the online registration. During the online registration process, each person registered will indicate their top three choices of workshops.

Workshops have limited capacities. Workshops will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Every effort will be made to accommodate attendees into one of their top three workshop choices.

How much do the books cost at the LitCon Bookstore?

A complete title and price list will be emailed to the primary adult chaperone/registrant. Cash, credit card and checks made out to Barnes & Noble will be accepted at the bookstore.

 Will lunch be provided?

Meals will not be provided. You may bring a packed lunch.

There is no lunch break in the schedule. When do we eat lunch?

You may choose to eat your packed lunch 1:20 - 1:45 in the Perry High School cafeteria.

Can I really wear a costume and dress as a fictional book character?

Yes! Get in the 'con' spirit and dress as your favorite literary character! Be creative! No weapons or replicas of weapons of any type may be worn or brought to LitCon 2016. Costumes must be school appropriate and respectful. Persons wearing costumes not considered appropriate by LitCon 2016 staff will not be admitted to LitCon 2016.

How much does a raffle ticket cost?

Every person attending LitCon will receive ONE free raffle ticket. Additional tickets may be purchased at LitCon at the rate of 2 tickets for $1.00. OELMA members will receive 2 FREE additional raffle tickets.
