The Inclusive Library – Providing Service to Your Refugee and Immigrant Communities

“Museums, libraries and archives can best serve the public by making their programs and facilities as broadly accessible as possible.  This means thinking expansively about how to be widely-inclusive, welcoming, and collaborative.” – The Institute of Museum and Library Services

The Inclusive Library series of five webinars was developed to meet the agency’s goal of ensuring that all Texans receive responsive library services, including Texans from traditionally marginalized populations.

This webinar, the third in the series, will provide practical information and resources for librarians on providing better service to immigrants and refugees in your community. Attendees are asked to submit questions you might have about how your library can serve better immigrants and refugees by Thursday, April 6, 2017 to ld@tsl.texas.gov (please use the subject line: “immigrants”). Diana Miranda-Murillo from the Austin Public Library will answer your questions on April 13th from 10 to 11 am. Diana has been involved with developing programs or services for immigrants at the Austin Public Library for the last 12 years.
