Description:

Whether face to face, over the phone or online, good communication skills are the heart and soul of a reference transaction.  In this webinar we will discuss strategies for making patrons feel comfortable in the library, clarifying patron requests and matching reference materials to patrons’ reading levels.

About the speaker:

Mike Fair is the Teen Librarian at the St. Bernard branch of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County.  He has worked in reference services for almost 20 years.  Mike earned his MLS from the University of Kentucky in 2014.
