Jennifer Chase, librarian/information professional at Givaudan, understands how to add value to her company. She uses current trends from the library field but also ranges further to bring elements to her job that are unique and beneficial. Last year Jennifer decided to become a certified Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professional (SCIP).  She proposed the Certification plan to her company and they supported and encouraged the process. Now Jennifer can run strategic planning and competitive intelligence focus groups and discussions inside the company. Those skills  tied to her expert-level research skills, create a potent combination. In keeping with this new focus which is much in demand internally, Jennifer recently redecorated her small library space turning it into a welcoming collaborative work space. The walls are painted with ‘whiteboard’ capable paint. There is a tacking strip so notes may be hung up. All of the furniture is easy to rearrange (lightweight) and the ‘coffee’ tables hold pads of doodle/note paper on the top! Small teams can book the area which is fully equipped with technology or they can just drop by. It's a practical and good looking set-up.

Jennifer would be happy to discuss the SCIP Certification with any of our members who would like to know more. It's a great option for many.
