Visiting school librarians is a rejuvenating experience.  I have found them to be a passionate and committed group and Monica Williams-Mitchell of Seton High School is no exception. One of Monica's collaborative projects is the Senior Capstone Project. The collaboration starts Freshman year, addressing information literacy issues with students and teachers so that step-wise progress is made before the senior year. Monica has developed good relationships with her English teachers in particular, to help make sure that when senior year arrives, the students are prepared for the rigors of the project.

Seton High School uses the Senior Project Center, which is in the process of incorporating Common Core standards to an approach that already includes 21st Century Skills.

Monica would like to support the Common Core more by collaborating with teachers beyond the English department. Wouldn't we all?
