This past spring I visited Cathy Horn and Emily Seppa of the Centerville City Schools. They both float throughout the district which is comprised of 13 schools covering pre-K through high school. Each physical location has a library/media center staffed variously and Cathy and Emily handle instruction, selection of materials and other purchasing, liaising with teachers and administration as well as the technology side, including copy cataloging. Yes, they’re busy. Both Cathy and Emily really enjoy working with students and wish they had more time for that. Students greeted them by name as the bell sounded and the surge that represents getting to that next class ensued.

Centerville City Schools have maintained an Excellent rating with Distinction 13 years in a row. Centerville, Ohio is a suburb of Dayton, split between Montgomery and Greene Counties.
