The Academic Library Association of Ohio invites you to attend their 2015 Annual Conference, "Cultivating Leadership: Preparing Academic Libraries for the Future," on November 20 in Columbus, Ohio.

The day begins with a keynote talk from Cindy Foley, Executive Assistant Director and Director of Learning and Experience at the Columbus Museum of Art. Her talk is entitled "Centers for Creativity; Reimagining the Impact of Libraries in the 21st Century."

We know Cindy from the energizing talk she gave at SWON's spring Membership Meeting in 2013. Then, she described how the Columbus Museum of Art was designing new ways for visitor to engage with the museum's exhibits. Having planned those activities, they could measure their outcomes and adapt or improve them. These designs included everything from new programs that built relationships with local teens to new furniture.

You can hear Cindy Foley speak in this TEDxColumbus talk from 2014, where she talks about the value of thinking like an artist and the pitfalls of thinking of creativity as something possessed only by a special few. Inspirational and grounded in practice, Cindy is a speaker you won't want to miss.

The rest of the day is filled with a diverse abundance of presentations. The full program schedule is now online, describing the 28 sessions available to choose from. With such a full day, you can design the agenda that best suits your needs. Registration closes October 28, so act now to register online.
