SouthWest Ohio and Neighboring Libraries is a cooperative of area libraries organized to promote library services among and through member institutions. SWON Libraries consists of academic, public, school and special libraries in southwest Ohio and northern Kentucky. 

Geographic Membership

All libraries of any type (academic, public, school, special) within SWON’s 17 county service area in Ohio (Adams, Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Fayette, Greene, Hamilton, Highland, Madison, Miami, Montgomery, Preble and Warren) are Geographic Members of SWON Libraries.

Geographic Members receive reduced-rate access to continuing education offered by or through SWON. Geographic Members can also participate in SWON’s Special Interest Groups for free, and SWON offers consulting and technology lending to them as well. Please contact SWON to learn more about learning opportunities for Geographic Members.

Supporting Membership

Geographic Members and Kentucky libraries may elect to pay dues to become Supporting Members and be entitled to additional services and further-reduced rates on programs. SWON offers a variety of special benefits for Supporting Members. The membership year runs from July through June, but members are accepted at any time on a pro-rated dues basis. *Headcount includes professional staff and support staff. Headcount does not include shelvers, student employees, temporary workers, trainees, interns, or volunteers.
