Programs in the Park

Description:

Learn some reasons why you might want to take your programs on the road to remote parts of your service area. Maybe you want to attend a festival, or host a giant story time, or just fill a park with the level of noise and kind of mess you can’t have inside a branch. Find out how and why Campbell County Public Library does it, and what they’ve learned in the process. This one hour webinar will cover cost and staffing considerations, location needs, weather plans or the lack thereof, partnerships and funding, and a few other bits of information you might find helpful if you’re planning on taking library programs to the patrons.

Competencies Covered:

  • Adult and Older Adult Services
  • Children's Services
  • Teen Services
  • Community Relations

About the speaker:

In December of 2000 a joint effort between the West Virginia K-12 education system and the University of Kentucky School of Information Science resulted in the creation of Dave Anderson. On March 26, 2001 Dave was installed with the other new equipment at the reopening of the expanded Carrico/Fort Thomas branch of Campbell County Public Library as an Adult Services librarian. Three years later he was reprogrammed as a Branch Manager and shipped to the Cold Spring branch where he is periodically upgraded with extra functionality such as Outreach Services supervision and community events programming.
