Telling your story: Using acting techniques to engage your audience

Wednesday, May 10th @ 1 PM

ALAO and SWON Libraries Consortium are partnering on a series of 3-4 webinars a year. Webinars will allow attendees to hear about exciting new opportunities and participate in a dialogue with the presenters.

Looking to improve your public speaking? This workshop will introduce you to acting techniques that can help you better connect with your audience and improve engagement with your material. All aspects of creating and delivering a presentation will be touched upon, from word choice to visuals to presentation style.

Amanda Koziura is a former actor and stage manager who left the bright lights of New York City to pursue librarianship.  She joined CWRU as their Digital Learning & Scholarship Librarian in 2014 and manages the Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship.  She teaches workshops and consults on a variety of topics, including digitization, tutorial creation, and digital humanities.  Her presentations have been seen most recently at the Academic Library Association of Ohio, Personal Librarian & First Year Experience, and Tennessee Library Association conferences.  She holds a BA in Theatre & English from Skidmore College and an MLS from the University at Buffalo, SUNY.
