Full STEAM Ahead: Using the Powerful Arts of Language, Literacy, and Literature

It's time to put the Ohio Kentucky Indiana Children's Literature Conference on your calendar. It's scheduled for November 7, 2015, at Thomas More College in Crestview, Kentucky, and early bird registrations are available for $85 through October 16.

At the conference this year you can hear talks by authors Eric Litwin (Pete the Cat) and Kathi Appelt (The Underneath, a Newbery Honor Book), and by illustrator Jeffrey Ebbeler (Tiger in My Soup).

Workshops abound, as well, discussing diverse topics like mentoring and paleontology, paintings and makerspace gadgets. Don't miss this opportunity to learn and make new connections.

Looking for more learning opportunities?

SWON is one of four Regional Library Systems in the state of Ohio, and each of us provides a variety of continuing education opportunities. We're working together to provide you with a single online calendar where you can find workshops from the Regional Library Systems and other Ohio library organizations.

Add the CE Ohio calendar to your bookmarks and you'll see the diverse learning opportunities offered throughout the state and online.

Another call for 2017 OVGTSL Chairs

Xavier University Library is still looking for volunteers to chair subcommittees as they prepare to host the 2017 Ohio Valley Group of Technical Services Librarians Conference.

If you would be interested in working on local arrangements, publicity/publications, fundraising, programming or scholarship, your help would be greatly appreciated. Chairing a subcommittee provides important leadership for the conference (and it looks great on your resume).

Interested in learning more? Contact Daphne Miller, the 2017 Planning Committee Chair at by September 30.
