Tech Testimonials
SWON's Tech to Lend program has been ramping up over the past several months! This week, I wanted to take a moment to share examples of the fun, creative, educational programs and projects that some of our members have done at their libraries and organizations using our Tech to Lend!
Recently, Adams County Libraries borrowed our Hue Animation Studio kit for their STEM Saturdays program and created their own videos to learn about film editing and computers at the same time! Here is a mash up of some of their great (and funny) stop motion projects:
Midpointe Libraries also recorded their borrowed Tech to Lend in action - the Dash & Dot robots working together to create beautiful music! MidPointe Librarian Sarah told SWON that she used these with 4th through 8th graders for a Creative Coding program. She says, "The students LOVED them! They couldn't get enough of the xylophone attachments."
Additionally, our 3D printers have begun to make the rounds! Clara at Campbell County has used our Flashforge Finder to create dice rolling castles for her Dungeons & Dragons programming as well as fun prizes for children's programs and more!

Is your library or organization looking to buy a new piece of tech? Check with us and you may be able to borrow it before you decide to buy one of your own! This is what several libraries have done so far with tech items like the da Vinci Mini, Little Bits Educator Kit, MaKey MaKey, and Snap Circuits!
SWON's Tech to Lend is always free for supporting members and available at an extremely reduced price for geographic members. Our Tech to Lend program is all about getting new technology into the hands of library staff and patrons across our area, no matter your budget! All of our Tech to Lend come with access to resources like manuals, curriculum, lesson plans, software, and more available through our shared Google Drive folder. Throughout the next year, I will continue to add lesson plans and even more resources for you to use with our tech. For more information on our Tech to Lend program, including descriptions and images of most of our tech, visit our Tech to Lend page and follow the links to view individual tech items and their specs. If you are looking to reserve tech, you can see the availability calendar here and then follow the link above "Current Bookings" to our registration page!
We would like to thank everyone who has already utilized our Tech to Lend and shared their programming & projects with us! We look forward to working with many more of you soon. If you have any questions or want to share photos/video of our Tech to Lend in action, feel free to email me at emily@swonlibraries.org!
