Early Bird Discounts for Picture Book Read In and OKI
Coming up in the next few months, SWON is hosting its twenty-third annual Picture Book Read-In and will also participate in OKI (Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana Children's Literature Conference) in November. For each of these events, there are early bird special offers!
Our Picture Book Read-In is a program for Collection Development staff, Children's Librarians, Teachers, Childcare Workers, and anyone else who selects and/or reads books for children. We provide thousands of recent titles (usually from the last two years) that have been loaned to us for this event from six local public library systems. Each attendee receives a printed guide listing all of the books. The day includes time for selecting and binge-reading picture books, discussing possible story time options with your peers, and two presentations. This year, we feature Lisa Soper, Youth Services & Programming Coordinator at The Public Library of Cincinnati & Hamilton County, with a presentation on Drag Queen Story Hours. If you register by July 27th, you will receive $5 off your ticket!
In November, OKI's Yearly Children's Literature Conference will focus on the theme "#ReadLocal - Discovering Treasures in Your Own Backyard" and will feature the authors & illustrators Adam Watkins of Ohio, Heather Henson of Kentucky, and April Pulley Sayre of Indiana. Please see swon.li/oki2018 for more information. Register before October 13th and get $10 off!
