SWON Presents: Make It Easy

Most library staff are aware of makerspaces and even work in or around them, but the question is: what do we do now? What sort of programs can you develop around a 3D printer, sewing machine, and other DIY-technology? How do we advertise our space and where can we learn about best practices? If you've asked yourself any of these questions Make It Easy is the workshop for you!

Attendees will obtain practical and applicable advice, tips, and programs for use in their makerspaces and beyond! Don't have a makerspace? That isn't a problem! These programs are geared toward helping anyone even if they don't have dedicated spaces for your DIY patrons. Best of all - the ticket to attend the event is free! Lunch is included as a separate $15 ticket if you would like a boxed lunch to be provided.

We ask all attendees to think about and bring a program outline of a maker activity they've had success with at their library to share with everyone! More details about this will follow in e-mails to all attendees.

Technical Services Special Interest Group (TeSSIG)

Please join us at our Fall TeSSIG meeting where the Athenaeum of Ohio Library staff will share their tech services workflows, including acquisitions, cataloging, and weeding. They will also discuss how they depend on OPAL for some services, especially in regard to e-resources. The meeting will take place from 1-3 pm, with an optional lunch at Noon. For those interested in joining us for lunch, please RSVP by Nov. 2 and meet at the Library at 11:45 am so we can walk to the lunchroom together.  The cost is $9 per person and is a buffet. You can bring cash or a check made out to the Athenaeum of Ohio in exchange for a lunch ticket. You will be able to leave belongings secured in the Library.

Parking: Free.

Directions: Upon entering the main drive, you will see one big building. The Library is located at the far right (east) entrance. Park at the spaces in front of that entrance. There are stairs at the entrance. After entering the building, turn right into the library. If you need handicap access, please let us know.
