4C for Children: Who they are, what they do — and the benefits of 4C and library partnership!

Research shows that the first five years are integral to a child’s development. 4C for Children aims to ensure all children get the best start in life. They do this by supporting educators and families in various ways, including: providing referrals to quality child care. coaching, and professional development for programs, nd by partnering with other agencies to create educational experiences for children, families and educators. 4C for Children serves several counties in Northern Kentucky and is the state Child Care Resource and Referral agency for southwest Ohio. As the local CCR&R, 4C leads the way in innovative use of resources to best meet the needs of families and educators. In a SWON webinar on February 14th, Christine Fields from 4C for Children will be sharing more about the mission of 4C as well as how 4C and your library can successfully partner to better meet patron's needs and serve as a valuable resource to library administration and staff.

Christine Fields started her career at 4C for Children in 2007 as an Infant and Toddler Specialist. The primary purpose of this role was to coach educators working in ODJFS programs (family child care as well as center-based) to increase the quality of their care for young children. She became a Training Coordinator in 2017 and is responsible for scheduling professional development in the five counties served by 4C for Children’s Cincinnati location. She also surveys coaches and community partners to inquire about needs of clients and creates new PD to meet those needs. Prior to working at 4C for Children, Christine was a classroom teacher, administrator, nanny, and education coordinator.
